Byron Cook, Chairman of the Texas House State Affairs committee, claims to be a Republican “Champion for Life.” Based on his record this session, though, those claims are pretty laughable, or at least they would be if the consequences were not so tragic. Before discussing pro-life bills specifically
Griff HarrisWhen you call his office you get, we are not sure which war Mr. Cook is leaning. I asked about a couple of others and got the same answer. He needs to be voted out along with Joe Strauss. Cook is being sued also by a pastor in Dallas.

Byron Cook Promotes Anti-Life Bill Wow! Chairman Byron Cook calls himself pro-life, but gave a hearing last week to a bill which would allow a mother's last act on earth to be ordering the death of her own preborn child. In fact, if the mother were unable to make this decision, her family could make it for her. Texas law currently prohibits removing life-sustaining treatment from a pregnant woman, but not if #ByronCook gets what he wants. He not only gave it a hearing, he even let his own opinion of it be known. Watch the video and see for yourself.
LeRoy WhitmanBy the way, food and water are not "life-sustaining treatment." Saw a presentation of scientific facts of pain of someone dying that way - horrible torture of a human being.
Who are we raising up to run against Cook?
Time is quickly running out for us to get a committee hearing on HB948, The Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act, in the State Affairs Committee. Help us to continue to remind Chairman Cook that Texas demands equal justice for all Texans especially the preborn.

"Rep. Tony Tinderholt has filed the most comprehensive and controversial piece of abortion legislation this session. HB948 is the only bill that seeks to completely abolish abortion in the State of Texas."

Karen Mitchell Dolifka#ByronCook is obstructing this bill and others.... he doesn't listen to constituents.... I know because he blocked me on his facebook page, so I'm reduced to the hashtag thing.... instead of calling him out on his page. He removes every comment that isn't praising him... he's been corrupted by power because he's been elected too many times. Get the word out, #ByronCook needs to go.
Dorothy WellsCook is leader of Senate Strauss right hand man and responsible for killing many true conservative legislative votes such as abortion. I have less respect for them than any democrat liberal, at least the democrats don't pretend to be liberal like so many republicans pretend to be conservative.
